Hybrid Cycling technology combines the natural feel of traditional cycling with intelligent electrical support. Hybrid Cycling works with precise sensors that monitor pedaling power, cadence and speed. Based on this data, the motor delivers exactly the power the rider needs at any given moment. The result is a natural, smooth and quiet ride, without jerky reactions or a feeling of "engine push". It also contributes to better efficiency and longer range because the system only uses battery power when it is actually needed. This makes driving not only more comfortable, but also more economical.
All SyncDrive engines use Smart Assist technology, which adapts engine assistance to the needs of the driver. It is the only system in the e-bike category that uses both rider data and feedback from the field to determine the ideal level of engine support, using information from multiple sensors. It delivers a smooth and natural ride with enough power for the riding situation, while saving power when less is needed.
The lowered top frame tube allows for easy and safe mounting and dismounting, which is especially appreciated during frequent stops in the city or on bike paths. Comfortable geometry contributes to a confident ride feel and better handling. Practical accessories are also included to expand the range of uses. The basis of the e-bike is a high-quality aluminium frame with a modern design, a SyncDrive Yamaha mid-motor with smooth support and an EnergyPak battery integrated in the frame. The top frame tube is lowered for comfortable mounting and dismounting. It is equipped with a rack, fenders, lighting and kickstand.
It is designed for comfortable and versatile use in the city and on longer trips. With a Giant SyncDrive Sport 2 mid-motor with up to 75Nm of torque and natural assist, the ride is smooth and powerful even off-road and uphill. The e-bike uses the Giant EnergyPak 625 Wh integrated battery neatly built into the frame, providing ample range for most daily and weekend rides.
Yamaha's SyncDrive motor with smooth support
Yamaha's SyncDrive Sport 2 mid-motor has an honest 75Nm of torque and up to 400% boost for its compact size. There are 5 assist modes available or you can choose the automatic Smart Assist mode. A smooth connection between the motor and your own power is provided by a set of six sensors that assess exactly how much power the motor should deliver, which also optimises battery power consumption. The result is an easily predictable and natural engine response and a ride that is pleasant, smooth and with the optimum amount of power for the driving situation.
Integrated EnergyPak battery
The EnergyPak battery is housed in the lower frame tube and has a capacity of 625 Wh. Advanced BMS (Battery Management System) circuitry optimises charging performance through continuous communication between the battery and charger. The EnergyPak 4A Smart Charger ensures fast and safe charging of the battery - special electronic circuits inside the charger help to extend battery life. The battery is securely locked in the frame with the ABUS Xplus lock.
Control unit with colour display
Convenient operation is ensured by the RideControl Dash 2 controller, which includes a clear, high-resolution colour display that shows all important data from different angles. The controller also includes separate buttons for Smart Assist auto mode, walk assist and lighting. There's also a USB-C connector (10W), which will come in handy for charging your phone. The ALUXX aluminum frame construction provides the optimal combination of strength and light weight, while the front suspension fork absorbs uneven roads and increases comfort during the ride. The model is equipped with components suitable for a variety of surfaces - from smooth asphalt to gravel roads - including hydraulic disc brakes for sure stopping and a 9-speed Shimano system for smooth shifting.
