Although Avinox presents itself as a solo driver, its history is closely tied to its parent company DJI, which brought it to the market. Therefore, it is worth mentioning that DJI is among the global leaders in drone technologies, and its products today are fundamentally changing how many industries operate, including e-cycling. Assistance modes – from relaxation to adrenaline
The Avinox system offers five riding modes that cover all usage scenarios:
AUTO mode
An innovative mode utilizing multi-sensor fusion automatically and continuously adapts the assistance based on riding resistance. Ideal for riders who want to let the bike's "brain" do the work for them.
ECO mode
Focused on maximum range with a gradual start-up and lower assistance. Perfect for long trips on flat terrain.
TRAIL mode
A balanced mode for mixed technical trails with medium assistance and a moderate start-up. The universal choice for most riders.
TURBO mode
Aggressive start-up combined with maximum assistance for steep climbs and challenging terrain.
BOOST mode
A special mode providing up to 60 seconds of 120 Nm (M1), 150 Nm (M2S), and 125 Nm (M2) torque. This is the "panic button" for extremely demanding sections and obstacles where you need absolutely everything the motor can give.
Custom tailoring
All modes (M1 except Boost) can be completely customized in the Avinox Ride mobile app or on the Avinox display. You can set:

Smart features and sensors (M2S & M2)
The motor contains a wide range of sensors – IMU, barometer, compass, and ambient light sensor. Thanks to them, it offers several useful functions:
Heart Rate Control
After connecting a heart rate monitor or chest strap, the system automatically regulates the assistance level to keep the rider in the specified heart rate zone. It works reliably on forest roads and during training, while in technically demanding terrain, manual mode selection is more practical.
Maintenance Mode
During service interventions, the motor is completely deactivated, and this setting remains saved even after a restart. It is an important safety feature that definitely should not be missing in such a powerful motor.
Navigation and connectivity
The system allows the import of GPX routes from third-party apps, including navigation instructions and automatic rerouting when deviating from the path. Furthermore, ride data is automatically synced with Strava (also for the 1st gen M1). DJI cameras (Avinox's parent company) can be controlled directly from the display, and current motor data can be projected into the recording.
Smart Walk Assist – 4 functions in 1
Thanks to the inertial measurement unit (IMU) and wheel speed sensor, Avinox offers an advanced Walk Assist function with several modes:
Walk Mode
High torque reduces the effort of pushing the bike uphill with minimal jerky movements.
Auto Hold
The bike automatically brakes on a slope while being pushed and doesn't roll back, increasing safety and allowing for one-handed control.
Hill Start Assist

For the Avinox system, it applies for the first time that the battery choice directly affects motor strength. For the M2S model to deliver its maximum continuous output of 1500 W, it must be paired with the FP700 battery. With other models, performance is software-limited to 1300 W (even with the RS800, you will still reach 1500 W in Boost mode), ensuring optimal system stability and safety.
