Cannondale Moterra 2: The versatile carbon eMTB that breaks stereotypes

The Cannondale Moterra 2 is a full-suspension mountain eMTB that is one of the most versatile models in the trail/all-mountain eMTB category for 2025/2026. With a new lightweight full carbon frame, powerful Bosch drivetrain and sophisticated geometry, it offers a great combination of agility, stability and plenty of power for long rides on challenging terrain. Cannondale calls this bike a "masterpiece of capability" - and it's not just a marketing slogan.

Lightweight carbon frame with clever suspension

At the heart of the Moterra 2 is a completely redesigned Moterra Carbon frame with 150mm of rear travel. The RockShox ZEB Select front fork provides 160 mm of travel. The design saves almost a kilogram compared to the previous generation, which is especially noticeable in the handling of a full-power e-bike.

The key technology is the Proportional Response Tuned Suspension - a suspension tuned individually according to frame size. This ensures that the bike behaves in a balanced and predictable manner whether a rider sits on it in size S or XL. The geometry is modern and progressive: low head tube angle (around 64°), short rear structure and 29" wheels all around. The result? The bike is lively and agile in technical passages, stable at high speeds and surprisingly efficient on climbs.

The frame has, of course, a removable battery integrated into the down tube, an alloy skid plate, internal cable routing, a UDH footpeg and stand-up pad ready.

Bosch drive - power and range without compromise

At the heart of the bike is the Bosch Performance Line CX (latest generation). The motor offers up to 100 Nm of torque (can be unlocked via the eBike Flow app, works at 85 Nm as standard) and provides a very natural and intuitive operation. As a result, the Moterra 2 climbs with ease, while not suffering from the "artificial" feel typical of some older e-bikes.

A big leap forward is the Bosch PowerTube 800 Wh battery. This capacity significantly reduces "range anxiety" - you can do long day hikes on a single charge, even in mountainous terrain, without having to conserve energy. The battery is removable, so it can be charged off the bike.

The Bosch Kiox display is elegantly integrated into the stem (HeadsUp Stem), ensuring a clean and clear cockpit.

This e-bike is the perfect choice for riders looking for a versatile eMTB for everything from flow trails and technical singletrack to enduro sections and long alpine tours. It's not an extreme enduro machine (there's a Moterra LT version for that), but its balanced handling and lighter weight than many of its competitors make it ride more like a classic mountain bike, but with a huge reserve of power for the uphill.

Cannondale Lifetime Warranty

Cannondale provides the original owner with a lifetime warranty on the frame against manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship.

The basic condition for activating the lifetime warranty is online registration of the bike on the manufacturer's website within 30 days of purchase. The warranty is non-transferable and expires if the bike is sold to another person.

For extreme disciplines such as freeride and dirt jump, the frame warranty is limited to three years. To maintain the validity of the warranty, the bike must be professionally assembled by an authorized dealer and regularly maintained according to the instructions.
