PearTune connects to the e-bike’s system using compatible original connectors. The device requires no configuration, and no diagnostic tools are needed during installation. All configuration and adaptation to the specific e-bike’s settings are handled automatically.

PearTune is connected between the speedometer sensor and the motor control unit, and between the display and the motor control unit. It draws power from the display’s power supply. All data, such as current speed and distance traveled, continues to be accurately displayed on the screen.

The only difference is that, from the moment of installation, you—not your bike—determine how fast you ride. The maximum speed limit of the Yamaha PW-X4 mid-drive motor is completely removed and is now limited only by your pedaling cadence. The chip works in combination with all displays available for this motor.

USAGE:

You can turn the PearTune MSO function on or off at any time while riding by pressing the LIGHT button twice. The accelerator’s activity is indicated directly on the display by the value 9.9 km/h immediately after turning the device on (chip is active) and the value 2.5 km/h or 4.0 km/h immediately after turning it off (chip is inactive). The original functions of the buttons remain unchanged.

SERVICE MENU AND ADVANCED SETTINGS (VERSION 4.0):

This advanced version offers a unique option for customizing settings directly via your e-bike’s control buttons using the service menu. You can access the menu by pressing the assist buttons (+ and -) a specific number of times while in the highest assist level (Turbo).

In the service menu, you can change and customize the following functions:

• Maximum Speed Setting: Allows you to change the speed limit from 26 to 60 km/h in 1 km/h increments, or set the value to 99 km/h for completely unrestricted speed.
• Chip Lock: A function to lock the chip so that it cannot be activated by any button.
• Chip Activation: Sets the chip’s status immediately after turning on the e-bike (it is either automatically active or inactive).
• Distance Display Mode: Select how the distance traveled is calculated (update the distance only when the bike is stopped, or disable updates).
• Chip Reset: Restores the chip to its factory default settings (e.g., when installing it on a different bike).
• Chip Activation: Select the specific buttons you want to use to turn the chip on and off.
• Software version information: Displays the chip’s software version directly on the screen.
