Shimano EP8

Newly designed Shimano EP8 electric motor with power rating of 250W and 85Nm of torque leads to 21% increase in assistance in comparisson to E8000 - the most powerfull Shimano motor to date. Overall unit weight has been reduced further by another 10% giving it a total weight of just 2.6kg. This has been achieved by using magnesium for most of the internal parts and operating friction has also been reduced by 36% when the motor is inactive.

Softer power output and smoother assistance delivery especially in Trail and Boost modes where both of these can take advantage of max. torque of 85Nm while the lowest mode Eco supports up to 30Nm.

With the new and integrated 630Wh battery the maximum range has been increased from previous generation of 500Wh batteries.
