The lightweight HPR50 drive weighs 1,850 g and features patented Harmonic Pin-Ring technology. Together with a 360 Wh battery, fully integrated 2" display, and minimalist remote unit, it is the lightest e-bike system in its class, with a total weight of 3,900 g. HOW AN ELECTRIC MOTOR WORKS

When pedaling, the force is transferred to the bottom bracket. Sensors record torque and cadence. The control unit processes these signals and regulates the motor output accordingly. The transmission transfers the motor assistance to the converter in sync with the pedaling motion.

High gear ratios are required to generate high power from low power.

Conventional drive systems achieve this by means of numerous gears, of which only a few teeth are engaged at any given moment.

This leads to a complex design in which several gears must work in parallel to achieve the desired gear ratio. The many individual components take up a lot of space and often make up as much as 50% of the total size of the drive.

REVOLUTIONARILY SIMPLE, TECHNOLOGICALLY OUTSTANDING: HARMONIC DRIVE WITH PIN RING

The harmonic gearbox with a pin ring (TQ-HPR) from TQ is a much simpler and unprecedented solution. At its core is a double toothed ring in which many teeth engage simultaneously. The shape of the teeth is chosen to match precisely and achieve maximum surface pressure.

This means that high power can be transmitted to only a few parts. No loss of power, much smaller installation space, far fewer parts.
Thanks to the direct transmission of power from the gearbox, the motor can operate at much lower speeds. This leads to reduced noise and less wear and tear.

Direct and lossless power transmission also ensures that the engine response can be controlled much more sensitively. In combination with sensors and electronics, the engine assistance can be precisely, seamlessly, and without delay adapted to the driving style, resulting in a natural and harmonious driving experience.

The principle is simple – the implementation is technologically very demanding.
