Bosch PowerTube 540 Battery
The Bosch PowerTube 540 battery is a fully integrated power source designed for e-bikes equipped with The Smart System from Bosch. Featuring an energy capacity of approximately 540 Wh (14.5 Ah capacity at 36 V), it offers a balanced ratio of capacity to weight for both urban commuting and off-road riding.
Compared to the PowerTube 500 model, it delivers greater energy storage and extended range without any weight increase—remaining at approximately 3.0 kg.

Frame Integration & Construction
- In-frame installation: The battery is integrated directly inside the e-bike frame, keeping it out of the way while riding and maintaining clean frame lines.
- Horizontal and vertical variants: Depending on the bike manufacturer's frame design, the battery is available in two versions—for horizontal or vertical mounting.
- Safety catch: When unlocked, a mechanical safety catch holds the battery securely in place inside the frame. This prevents the battery from accidentally dropping and makes removal safe and easy.
System Compatibility & DualBattery
The PowerTube 540 takes full advantage of seamless communication with other Bosch Smart System components (drive unit, displays, eBike Flow app).
Additionally, the battery supports DualBattery functionality within The Smart System. This allows you to combine the PowerTube 540 with another Bosch battery on a single bike to achieve significantly higher total capacity for demanding or multi-day rides.
