The base of the bike is an aluminum frame made of high-quality alloy and with a very well-thought-out geometry that makes the bike feel comfortable even on long rides. The Stance E+ is also suitable for more technical terrain, which is where the FlexPoint rear suspension, which provides 120 mm of travel, and the air suspension fork with 130 mm of travel come in handy. Especially on the hills, you'll appreciate Yamaha's powerful SyncDrive Sport mid-motor, whose 70 Nm of torque and up to 350% boost will take you up very steep or long climbs.

There are five manually selectable riding modes or the fully automatic Smart Assist mode, which sets the most appropriate amount of support for you, thanks to acceleration (accelerometer) and lean sensors. Use the RideControl to engage the electric drive and select the desired power level or the fully automatic Smart Assist mode. As soon as you put your weight on the pedals, you activate the PedalPlus sensors, which transmit information to the control unit. The energy is then transferred to the SyncDrive motor, which immediately and smoothly kicks in and starts helping you pedal. The integrated EnergyPak Smart battery, located underneath the downtube of the frame, provides a 500 or 625 Wh capacity (depending on the model selected) and is charged very quickly by a "smart" 6-amp Smart Charger.

The RideControl Dash displays the most important data such as speed, distance, ride time, cadence and current battery level and has distinctive and ergonomically shaped buttons on it for easy switching between riding modes + a separate walk assist button. Thanks to Bluetooth connectivity, you can then pair your bike with the RideControl app that you download to your smartphone (downloadable for Android, iOS). The app will then offer you, for example, to adjust the amount of support in all riding modes or various fitness functions. The ANT+ connectivity will also allow you to connect your e-bike to some devices that use this modern communication protocol (bike computers, sports navigation and sporttesters).

The Stance E+ EX is equipped with a rear rack, mudguards, lighting and a kickstand - so it is designed more as a "transport device". This specific model also has a different control unit, namely the RideControl Dash with display.
